Mid fifties Benoit & Fils oak pony cart. New condition. This cart was acquired from the 2007 Oeming Fall Antique Sale. It was crafted by M. Benoit, himself, for his grandchildren to drive their Shetland pony. It displays all the detail and quality Benoit & Fils was renowned for. Benoit & Fils was the Rolls Royce of carriage-makers, providing custom work for the great American driving families, such as the DuPonts and Rockefellers. This cart is an exquisite piece of history, well stored and lightly used. This cart is truly "one of a kind".

The wheel diameter is 28". The shaft from the swingletree to tip is 61". The width between shafts at narrowest point is 19 ½" .

Note the brass work accents (including wheel hubs) and pinstriping, characteristic of the finest horse driven vehicles.
