Our Caspian mares arrived from Kentucky in early October. They are wearing their winter coats and still adjusting to their new surroundings. Keep checking for photos as they make themselves presentable for a photo shoot.

M3 Soleil (CWHBA registered)

Chestnut mare, b. 1998 16hh, premium mare book CWHBA, (Urybaldi x Iris de Notre Dame).

Soleil is an premium Swiss/French bred broodmare. She improves herself with every foal, no matter which stallion she is bred too. Her first offspring are now competing successfully in both Canada and the United States. She has classic floating movement and shows excellent form and athletic ability in the free jump chute.

Through her sire's line, her lineage extends back to the prized medieval chestnut Destriers bred by the Monks of Ste. Hermelle. Her conformation and type are prototypical of a 1400 year old breeding program and provide an insight into history.

Taylor II (CWHBA registered)

Bay mare, b. 2000 15hh, inspected CWHBA, (Novalis x Charming Turn TB)

Novalis is one of two sons left by Jus de Pomme, Olympic double gold show jumping winner at the 1996 Olympics. Charming Turn is by famed Turn To, whose name appears in most international event horse pedigrees. Taylor's dam, Charming Spring, showed the ability and soundness to remain a racehorse until age 11 at Belmont, Woodbine and major tracks in Florida.

KVS Amore (CWHBA registered)

Chestnut Tobiano mare, b. 2004 16hh (Sandstorm x Dublin Gold TB)

Amy was acquired as a yearling. As well as being light on her feet, she demonstrates classic floating movement and can turn on a dime. She was lightly backed as a two year old and was offering flying lead changes and light collection only 3 weeks into training. She has been lightly trail ridden and takes deadfall, skidoos, campfires, and packed snowdrifts like a seasoned pro. She also goes in harness. "Amy will be presented for inspection by CwHBA, summer 2008.

Wynona (CWHBA registered)

Chestnut, mare, 14:3hh, inspected CWHBA (Widikund X unknown Hann).

Wynona's small size and sturdy conformation first drew us to her. Her lofty generous movement combined with her sweet, gentle disposition prompted us to buy her as a foundation mare for our pony breeding program. Wynona will be presented for inspection by American Sport Pony Registry, summer 2008.

MH Cover Girl (CWHBA registered))

Bay, filly, b. 2007, 14:3hh at 1 year, (Watch Out x Novalis) Cover Girl is our first homebred filly, out of Taylor II (first foal). She is demonstrating the size, athletic ability and attitude that will aim her to the upper level jumper rings. She is one of 5 foals by Watch Out born in 2007 and the only filly! Watch Out is now available for breeding with frozen semen only, as he makes his mark on the jumper world. With 2nd and 3rd generation sires of Jus de Pomme, Baloubet de Rouet, Contender and Turn To, we look forward to watching this filly grow up!

Primadawna (CWHBA, CSHR registered)

Brn, mare, b. 1991, 16:2hh (Wodan [KWPN] x Mikro Tyke TB)

Dawna was a lesson in how not to buy a broodmare. She herself was a champion hunter on the lower mainland "A" circuit as a 4 & 5 year old. Two of her offspring by Musing; Spring Break and Night Watch, have taken many riders to championships in equitation and hunters on both the west and east coast "A" circuits. However, age and poor breeding conformation have ended her days in the breeding shed. Dawna's value comes in that she has promted Donna to start riding again, and can be counted on as a reliable mount for any beginner visiting the farm. She has also proven her worth as a babysitter to the weanlings.

Lacey Go (Jockey Club, CTHS registered)

Chestnut, mare, b. 2005, 15:2hh

Lacey is the perfect addition to our pony program. You would be hard pressed to fault her conformation, soft eye, and mellow disposition. Her "chrome" and elegant movement were bonuses. We acquired her from a race horse trainer friend who claims that in 28 years of training race horses, she has never met a horse who wanted to run less. Glen thinks he has found his next saddle horse.

Nora G. (Jockey Club, CTHS registered)

Chestnut, mare, b. 2003, 16:2hh

If her racing career didn't turn out, Nora G. was bred to be a sport horse; with her lineage on both sides including many well known champion TB hunter sires. Her owners held great hopes for her on the track, as her sister and mother both proved to be moneymakers. At two an unfortunate incident ended her race career before it began. Her former owner kept her for the breeding shed, but has since decided not to continue his race horse breeding program. We are very excited to have acquired a TB mare of this caliber. She will be presented to CWHBA for inspection and breeding registration, summer, 2008.

Streaking Hour (Jockey Club, CTHS registered

Brn, mare, b. 2004, 16:3hh (Temptor x)

Izzie is on lease from our good friend Kim Berenbaum. Kim and Greg met when they were still on ponies. Her size, bone and power are seldom seen in today's modern racing Thoroughbred. She reminds us of Friendly in many ways. Izzie was never considered "broke enough" to race, having no brakes or steering, but her gallop boy commented "he had never sat on anything that fast". Now under Kim's direction, she has both (for an experienced rider). Her retraining as a jumper has been interrupted by Kim's career. We were happy to have the opportunity to breed a mare like Izzie to Snowbound Paisley, for a TB sport horse.

Shepton's Tamara (CHSA)

Bay, mare, b. 1998, 12:1hh (Persicus Nicky x Hopstone Shabdiz)

Tamara was originally imported from England to the United States. Her sire's is by Sohrab, out of Korshid, both foundation horses from the early 1980's. Hopstone Shabdiz is also from foundation lines. Her dam, Henden Selina, a prolific mare, figures prominently in the pedigrees of today's most sought after modern Caspian Horses. Tamara has everything we look for in a broodmare. Pictures of her only foal, a two year old filly, also offered for sale by Kristull Ranch, were drop dead gorgeous, and easily within the top ten horses we've ever seen candid photos of. We felt if we couldn't get the filly, we'd take the mother.

Kristull Jehani Texas Lady (CHSA)

Grey, mare, b. 2003, 12:2hh (Eastern Jehani x Cheleken Kabba)

Texas' lineage defines the modern Caspian Horse, by carrying most of the popular bloodlines as well as some foundation lines. To us, she looks like a modern warmblood in miniature. Elegant and refined, it's hard to believe such substance and movement can come in such a small package. She easily has an 11' stride and lopes over 3'6". She is presently in training under saddle and was a star at a local driving club's Bombproofing Clinic.
