Looking at Marsh Haven's Caspians
Being both an ancient and primitive breed, Caspian horses characteristically show striping on their legs and chest.
Note the stripes on Talib's back legs and Texas' chest.

Although the modern Caspian breed standard is for elegance and refinement, there is a primitiveness about them that is very reminiscent of evolutionary drawings of equus as noted on Tamara's profile and heavier neck and shoulder.

Another distinguishing feature of Caspian Horses is their smaller parietal lobes, evident in their small ear formation in relation to their broad intelligent looking foreheads; Tamara, Texas and Talib (Striping on Talib's legs and chest, as well as Tamara's chest is evident here as well).

Many Caspian Horses also display a metallic sheen to their coats, a characteristic more notable in Akal-Teke horses.
Tamara is bred to a dun stallion; the dun gene in Caspian's is more noted for it's metallic sheen factor, so we are excitedly awaiting the arrival of her 2008 baby.
